LP12 – Jordan Lacey

Jordan Lacey

Ritualizing Sound

Jordan Lacey‘s new book Ritualizing Sound: towards a psychotherapeutical materialism is due for release in late November with Bloomsbury Academic. He tackles how to ethically apply sound and ritual to creative sound art and design practices, while learning from contemporary Indigenous scholarship and ongoing land-based practices. Jordan will use the black box 24.2 sound system to play back performances of the Sonic Crucible, which is discussed in the book as an example of how ritualizing sound practices might sound and feel.
